Arkansas Black Hall of Fame believes
that African-American history is integral to
Arkansas
heritage and should be preserved alongside other
cultural treasures, which define and enrich our state,
nation and world. The ABHOF has partnered with the
Mosaic Templers Cultural
Center to create (A Living
History: Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Exhibit) project. Mosaic Templers
Cultural
Center
is a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage,
which preserves the legacy of African-American culture
and business enterprise in Arkansas. This project is designed to promote
understanding and appreciation of the achievements
through the arts and humanities in
Arkansas. The project is
supported in part by a grant from the Arkansas
Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the
Humanities.

The project will display the talent,
and accomplishments of those
Arkansas
who have been inducted into the Black Hall of Fame. The
exhibit will be housed on the third floor of the newly
constructed Mosaic Templers
Cultural
Center
near the ballroom. The project is designed to ultimately
promote a better understanding of the Arkansas Black
Hall of Fame through an interpretive exhibit.

| The "Living" portion of this exhibit
will engage and expose the community to the talents and
accomplishments of the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame
Inductees. This portion of the exhibit will allow
inductees to showcase their talent through lectures,
workshops, seminars, and concerts periodically
throughout the year. |
